Shivang Dave, Ph.D.

Shivang, a bioengineer and nanotechnologist, has been passionately involved with global health throughout his career. He earned his BS and PhD in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley and UW Seattle, respectively. As a NSF Graduate Fellow, he focused on the development of nanoparticle-based probes for the solution-phase multiplexed, ultrasensitive detection of cancer biomarkers. He was awarded the College of Engineering Community of Innovators Dean’s Award and completed the Program in Technology Commercialization and Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate (Foster Business School, Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship). Shivang has co-developed commercial strategies to numerous technologies, including drug-eluting intraocular lenses to reduce post-surgery infection burden in developing countries such as India, for which was awarded Best Innovation and Finalist Prizes at various business plan competitions.

Daryl Lim, Ph.D.

Daryl has been involved in both technical and business sides of the biomedical industry. He received a B.S. in Physics from the University of Leipzig and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. Following that, he did a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT where he developed diagnostic technologies for ophthalmology and oncology. As a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, Daryl worked with some of the largest companies in the med-tech, healthcare, and pharma sectors in a variety of projects spanning operations, strategy, organization, and more.
Nick Durr, PhD

Nick Durr, Ph.D.

Nick is an optical engineer with academic and industry experience in clinical and commercial translation of innovative technologies. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley, a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from U.T. Austin, and completed his Postdoctoral Training at Harvard Medical School. He previously worked in the advanced technology group at Nellcor Puritan Bennett, where he developed opto-electronic medical devices. From 2011 to 2014, he was an M+Vision Fellow at MIT, where he was the principal investigator of research projects in endoscopy and ocular diagnostics.

Eduardo Lage, Ph.D.

Eduardo Lage, a native of Spain, received his undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Alcala (Madrid) and his PhD in Medical Imaging from the University Politecnica of Madrid. He began his career in Medical Imaging by joining the Medical Imaging Lab of the Gregorio Marañon Hospital to help in the development of a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) system for small-animal imaging. From that time, Eduardo Lage has focused his career on exploring innovative approaches for molecular imaging. Dr. Lage has led or participated in the design and development of various preclinical scanners (PET, SPECT, CT and multimodality systems) which have been commercialized by several companies such as SEDECAL S.A. (Madrid) and General Electric (USA).
