The first job we created, in 2016, was filled by Carlos Hernández, then a Bachelors level engineer. He grew to become our trusted Director of Engineering.

The influence he had on our technology pipeline, our products, and our company culture is difficult to overstate. Carlos’s fingerprints are all over both QuickSee and QuickSee Free, and their successful large-scale impact in the world—which is why the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness recognized him as an Eye Health Hero in 2020. 

We couldn’t have got to where we are today without him, and his technical and cultural contributions will hold us in good stead for a long time to come. On behalf of everyone at PlenOptika, we are so proud of him, grateful for the time we worked together, and excited for his new endeavors as Dr. Carlos Santiago Hernández.
